Nanoscience: Physicists explain the metal conductivity of th

An international research team has studied the optical and dielectric properties of thin macroscopic thin films based on single-walled carbon nanotubes and explained their conductive metal properties by infrared and terahertz spectroscopy. The results were published in the Journal Carbon and Nanotechnology.

Single-walled carbon nanotubes or SWNTs can be depicted as graphene sheets rolled into cylinders. SWNT is light, strong and high temperature resistant. It can be used as an additive in composite materials to make it more durable, or as a building block to manufacture aerosol filters and electrochemical sensors. Transparent and flexible carbon nanotube films, i.e. two-dimensional structures formed by cross-nanotubes, have a wide range of potential applications, such as supercapacitors or transparent electrodes in flexible electronic devices that can bend, fold and twist. Break. Therefore, it is important to study the charge transfer mechanism in this kind of thin film for basic research and practical application.
